How Are Rare Earth Neodymium Magnets Made Out?

Neodymium magnets, crafted from neodymium, iron, and boron alloys, vary in composition for specific strength and purposes. Two primary manufacturing methods include sintering and bonding:

Sintering involves heating the alloy, molding ingots, grinding them into powder, pressing into molds, and sintering the powder into dense blocks. The final shape is achieved through cutting, coating, or electroplating, followed by magnetization.

Bonded neodymium magnets blend neodymium alloy powder with a polymer adhesive. These components are pressed or extruded, forming more intricate shapes and magnetized powders compared to those in sintered magnets.
